Nhow Amsterdam RAI Hotel

Amsterdam

Amsterdam is expanding in all aspects and requires sufficient amenities to facilitate this growth. With the establishment of the Zuidas (Financial Mile) a distinct need arose for the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre to be given a revamped urban aspect. A tender was put out for the development of a hotel on the ‘green border’: the triangle between the RAI, the A10 motorway and the Europa Boulevard. Eleven parties participated in the tendering process. Ultimately COD, Being Development, OMA and NH Hotel Group joined forces and were granted the commission. The ground-breaking design with three characteristic twisted triangular volumes hints back to the once-famous triangular advertisement post called ‘Het Signaal’ (The Signal) on Europaplein, the square in front of the RAI.
